Piccolo Flag Take Down

Made of an absorbent microfiber, the is a take-down version of the Piccolo Flag that  enables it to be carried easily in one's gig bag or case. This Piccolo Flag is 14" assembled and can very effectively remove the condensation from the piccolo bore all the way up to and including the cork face of the headjoint. This can be done without taking the instrument apart!

The take down version can also be used unassembled as a short handled swab to wipe the bore of a headjoint or body. This feature makes it a sort of  two-in-one sort of multi function tool! Handle is made of black carbon fiber composite material - lightweight and hard to break!

Washing Instructions: All of the Flute and Piccolo Flags can and should be hand washed (the fabric portion only) in a gentle liquid dish washing detergent solution (make certain that suds show throughout the fabric), rinsed and then air dried.  The swabs are most effective when they are clean.  If your swab fails to properly absorb water, then it does need washing, even if it is new.  Washing the fabric of a new swab helps activate the absorbency of the fabric.  These swabs should not be stored in temperatures higher than 120 Degrees F.  The take-down swab handles should not be exposed to excessive lateral forces, i.e., bending.

Testimonial:

The piccolo flag is very nice. I appreciate the use of carbon fiber material for the wand; it gives a great deal of strength for a very small diameter. I chose the take down flag, for the ability to break it down and slip the 2 pieces into the outside pocket of my piccolo's case cover. The 5/8 inch (14 mm, for those who use metric) "screw" on the handle part goes smoothly into the threaded metal fitting on the flag part. The flag material is very absorbent, and wicks most of the moisture from my instrument at one pass. I've also used a flute flag for my flute for several years. These are excellent accessories. ~Ruth Simon
